What is the difference
“I have never understood the concept of infatuation. It has always been my understanding that being “infatuated” with someone means you think you are in love, but you’re actually not; infatuation is (supposedly) just a foolish, fleeting feeling. But if being “in love” is an abstract notion, and it’s not tangible, and there is no way to physically prove it to anyone else… well, how is being in love any different than having an infatuation? They’re both human constructions. If you think you’re in love with someone and you feel like you’re in love with someone, then you obviously are; thinking and feeling is the sum total of what love is. Why do we feel an obligation to certify emotions with some kind of retrospective, self-imposed authenticity?” - Chuck Klosterman
Secrets
“Secrets can’t hide in science. Medicine has a way of exposing lies. Within the walls of the hospital, the truth is stripped bare. How we keep our secrets outside the hospital –well, that’s a little different. One thing is certain, whatever it is we’re trying to hide, we’re never ready for that moment when the truth gets naked. That’s the problem with secrets –like misery, they love company. They pile up and up until they take over everything…until you don’t have room for anything else. The thing people forget is how good it can feel when you finally set secrets free. Whether good or bad, at least they’re out in the open…like it or not. And once your secrets are out in the open, you don’t have to hide behind them anymore. The problem with secrets is –even when you think you’re in control, you’re not.”
Clinging to kayaks: 12
They say if it’s meant to be you will come back. I stare at the sky and wonder what it feels like to be swallowed. By a mouth, by the sky, by time. I mark the spot I lost you and wait for the clock to tick back to the exact moment. My neck begins to ache from staring up after you for so long. But the universe is just too big and the clock never reverses direction. They say if it’s meant to be you will come back. I think they really mean that you were meant to be far away from me.

The blood floods the subway
All I ever wanted you to do was feel this feeling. Be this way. Exhale the sky.
All you ever did was feel different. Be away. Wash your hands with air.
All I love is a feeling. I still feel this way. I cannot breathe.
I still forget there's air out there.
I still forget how white hot everything was.
I still forget myself.
There's nothing wrong with this.
There's nothing true about this.
There's nothing.
You were once everything I felt.
You were once everything.
You were, once.
And if love moves like air, then teach me how to dig my nails into the palm of my hand so I can remember what you once felt like.

Welcome to reality
"Magic wishes come from money, Prince charming's a shallow idiot with a bad haircut and overpriced clothes. And true love? Ha, true love is one sided, Ace. You love her, she loves someone else. She loves you, you love someone else. Never quite works out does it? So you end up with some actor pretending to be your true love. Real considerate of someone to let you know reality was like that before being thrown into it. 'If you wish, it'll happen.' Well, wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which one fills up faster. Welcome to reality. Enjoy your stay."
